A few days ago I posted Part 1, today I am back with this installment. Let’s get right to it, shall we?
First up in this edition is Rogue: Let me just say, figuring out the “combo” mechanic took a few games. Basically goes down like this, you need to play a card to activate the “combo” portion of the card. Any card. So zero mana cards are nice for that. Backstab is good for that. I have a Knife Juggler in my rogue deck, so I have a bunch of low cost cards to make sure I have fuel.
Cold Blood– Great for buffing a minion. Turning that 1/1 or 2/2 into a heavy hitter. Also nice for putting some power on those 0/4 or 1/7 taunts. For 1 mana, this is pretty powerful.
Eviscerate– Is a nice and versatile card. You can play it without the combo, if you need a quick 2 points on a minion or combo it for the full 4. Only 2 mana, this card packs a punch.
I know the premise of this series was about “cheap” cards to craft, but if you are serious about the rogue, you might want to look into crafting an SI:7 Agent. It’s a 3 mana 3/3 minion with a 2 point damage combo kick. It’s that good. Worth spending 100 dust on.
Shaman: To me is the most complex deck to play. A balance between playing your totems and managing your “overload” cards.
Forked lightning– A seriously powerful card that does 2 damage to 2 random enemy minions. Which is even better if there are only 2 on the board. For 1 mana, this is a good card to have early. Make two of them and thank me later.
Lightning Bolt– Does 3 damage for one little mana. It does have an overload of 1 but that is a small price to pay for sizzling your opponent!
Stormforged Axe– Is a nice card to have around. For 2 mana and an overload of 1, you get a 2/3 weapon. I’m not that keen on playing with weapons, but there are a few out there I like.
Warlock: I need to preface this by saying, I don’t play a conventional Warlock deck. Nor do I play a “Zoo” deck. I’m still trying to collect a couple more “demons”. I did make a nice deck for the “play 20 minons that cost 5 or more” quest that was pretty fun. That said, there are a couple cards that are essential.
Blood Imp– is a sleeping giant. For 1 mana this guy sits there in the shadows and gives 1 health to a random minion. Awesome, especially early. You can then pump him up with Power Overwhelming if you need to or Sacrificial Pact, if the chips are down.
Demonfire– Is another nice card to have. Either do 2 damage to an enemy minion, or pump your demon up with +2/+2.
Warrior: Most of the Warriors kick ass cards are basic, which is nice.
Rampage– Give a damaged minion +3/+3. Not bad, for 2 mana. Especially considering there are lots of “self damage” cards in this deck.
Cruel Taskmaster– A 2/2 minion that gives +2 attack and deals 1 damage to a minion. Not a bad trade, especially if you are using it on a minion with an “enrage” mechanic.
Arathi Weaponsmith– Not an incredible card at 4 mana and a 3/3 minion, but it’s Battlecry is giving you a 2/2 weapon, which isn’t world beating, but it is a nice combo.
