I’m going to be honest, I am not big on New Year’s resolutions. Mostly because I know they have failed no sooner than they leave my lips. Like most years, 2015 has seen it’s share of ups and down. Whether you live in Paris, Los Angeles, or a small town in a little country, chances are tragedy has crossed your path. It’s inescapable at times.
I came across a quote from our favorite fictional boxer, Rocky Balboa–
“…But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward”
Nothing is more appropriate in the world we live in today. This brings me to today’s topic: Will you make a pledge to make your world better? It doesn’t have to be global. It could be something simple as looking up a new word every day to better your vocabulary. It could be something grand as volunteering some time to help someone in need. If you are already doing things like that, kudos to you, but if you aren’t, take a moment to think about it. This is my plea to the universe. Most of us have room to get better, myself included.
So ring in 2016 with friends and family with resolve and dedication, let’s make 2016 the best it can be. Let’s “take that hit, and still move forward”.
