The strong and the silent

The strong and the silent

6-1-15

The sun is out, the day is gorgeous, your cares are neatly tucked away, put into drawers, put into boxes, color coded for easy retrieval.

Something’s wrong, you feel you’re dying, all the colors fade away, food has no taste, drink isn’t quenching, a beating heart is proof you are alive.

Oh, you’re strong, and you are quite silent, like a statue you stand, day and night

Inside you’re tired, your mind is burning, crumbling, and it’s so hard to get it right

The day is long, the grind is endless, people flash by in a blur of colors, your senses dull, your thoughts escape you, it’s 5 o’clock but you don’t want to move.

Something’s gone, some part inside you, on the surface it all looks good, months go by, another birthday, living seems to be so mundane.

Oh, you’re strong, and you are quite silent, like a statue you stand, day and night

Inside you’re tired, your mind is burning, crumbling, and it’s so hard to get it right
